OPEN LETTER TO PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS

Dear Prospective Member,

On behalf of the Executive Board of the New Jersey Cooperative Education and Internship Association, I am delighted to invite you to join our organization.  NJCEIA is celebrating over 30 years in existence in the cooperative education and internship community.  We welcome you to join us and demonstrate your commitment to experiential education in higher education.

A piece of our history:

"The New Jersey Cooperative Education & Internship Association is a professional organization that was founded in 1973 with the mission of encouraging New Jersey colleges and universities to adopt the concept of cooperative education. In its early stages, the Association concentrated on soliciting support from New Jersey college administrators and faculty. As a result of this successful effort, cooperative education programs have become institutionalized in colleges and universities throughout New Jersey."

NJCEIA is concentrating its efforts on building partnerships beyond the co-op community, seeking to bring together all New Jersey experience-based programs and its employer community.  This year our theme is “Honoring the Past…Embracing the Future.”  Exciting programs have been planned around this theme and we look forward to connecting with you at these events.  As a participating member of NJCEIA you will have the opportunity to:

l   Network with professionals in the field
l
Enhance your organization’s visibility, in-person and online at NJCEIA.org
l
Dialogue with fellow practitioners and members about issues important to you and your program
l
Discover the variety and scope of New Jersey’s experience-based programs
l
Participate in workshops, meetings, committees and events
l
   Identify colleagues in your area
l
Build partnerships with other colleges, universities and employers
l
Connect with one of New Jersey’s most collegial professional associations

Thank you for your interest!  We hope to see you at one of our future meetings!

Respectfully,

Sue Pye
