Nominations are no longer being accepted for the 2008 award.  

Judging will be completed and winners will be notified shortly.  Winners will be notified by mail and invited to the June NJCEIA meeting. All nominators will receive an award announcement letter upon completion of the judging.  Presentations of awards will take place at the NJCEIA meeting in June 2008.  

New applications (see eligibility below) will be applied to the 2009 award year.

Student of the Year Awards

Each year the NJCEIA recognizes up to three outstanding students from our two- and four-year colleges/universities and graduate programs through our Student of the Year Award. Winners will receive an award of $300.

Please see criteria below for student eligibility. Both the student and the employer complete and submit the following forms:

Dates to keep in mind:
  • Entries may be submitted to the Chair of the Scholarship Committee throughout the year, with an April 2009 deadline to be set   
  • Judging will take place in May 2009
  • Announcement of winners and presentations at the NJCEIA meeting in June 2009

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • NJCEIA is sponsoring a search for outstanding co-op/ internship students. A cash award of $300 will be presented to the winners. Students enrolled at two and four-year degree-granting institutions are eligible to compete.
     
  • We encourage all NJCEIA members to notify their students and co-op employers about the scholarship. Please note that more than one student from each institution can apply.
     
  • Eligibility is limited to students who:
    • were/are enrolled in co-op/internship for at least one-semester during the summer 2008, fall 2008, or spring 2009
       
  • Criteria for selection:
    • Student achievements on the job (See linked Student Data Form.)
    • Student contributions to the employer (See linked Employer Support Form.)
       
  • In order to compete for the award, both the Student Data Form and Employer Support Form must be submitted by the deadline date.
     
  • Nominations must include:
    • Student Data Form which includes the Student Statement
    • Employer Support Form which includes the Employer Statement
       
  • All completed sets of entries MUST be received by the Awards Committee Chair by the April 2009 deadline. Late entries and incomplete entries will be disqualified.
