Dominique Clarke
currently works at New Jersey Institute of Technology – Division
of Career Development Services as an Associate Director for the
Student and Alumni Success Team. She advises students attending
the School of Management and Chemical Engineering majors. She
manages the logistics for special events and career fairs for
the Division. In addition, she is responsible for the design of
the marketing campaign to promote career services to NJIT
students. She has a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from Drew
University and a M.S. in Counseling Services from Upsala
College, and a certificate in Adult and Career Planning for New
York University School of Continuing Education. In her spare
time she volunteers at the local elementary school.

Christian Uhl
earned a Master of Arts in Public/Mass Communication, Rutgers
University (New Brunswick, NJ 2000). He received a Bachelor of Arts
in Communications from The College of New Jersey (Ewing, NJ, 1994),
and spent a summer studying abroad at Oxford University, Ruskin
College (1992). Christian is currently a Cooperative Education
Coordinator at Stevens Institute of Technology. He previously worked
as an education administrator and instructor at The Art Institute of
Philadelphia (September 2002-March 2005). He was the Music Editor
for the Aquarian Weekly/East Coast Rocker from 1997-2002, and still
writes about music as a freelance journalist.

Christine Cervelli has worked at New Jersey Institute of
Technology – Division of Career Development Services as an Assistant
Director for the Student and Alumni Success Team since 2001. She
advises Mechanical Engineering students and alumni as well as
students and alumni from the College of Science and Liberal Arts and
the College of Computing Sciences with career planning, cooperative
education, and job search strategies. In addition she serves as the
project leader in bringing technological career resources to the
division such as creating podcasts and distance learning career
courses. Prior to this she worked in the department as the Career
Resource Center Manager. She has a BA in Psychology and Sociology
from Moravian College and a Master of Education degree in Counseling
Psychology from Rutgers University. She has earned her 2nd degree
black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoys volunteering as a Magic Mirror
Player by performing improvisational skits to organizations through
a local hospital.

Laszlo Pokorny
has
been working at the Cooperative Education program at Rutgers
University - School of Environmental and Biological Sciences since
August 2003. He earned a Master of Science degree in business
economics from Rutgers University. He received a Bachelor of
Science in plant biology and worked for two years on a NASA funded
research project at Rutgers prior to beginning his graduate
coursework. Laszlo is a formulation chemist and business proprietor
in the natural products industry. He serves as an advisory panel
member to the Beijing Tibetan Medicine University planning
committee. Laszlo performs throughout New York City, Philadelphia
and New Jersey as a percussionist in multiple music groups.

Sue Pye
has
been working in higher education for 12 years. A Newark native, she
began her career in residence life and eventually segued into career
services at Seton Hall University, where she served as Assistant
Director for Career Development. She also worked as a Career
Counselor at The Fashion Institute of Technology and currently
serves as an Assistant Director in Career Services at Rutgers
University. She has B.A. degrees in Anthropology and Communication
from Rutgers and an M.A. in Higher Education from New York
University. In her free time she likes to cook, travel, work on
home renovation projects and play volleyball.

Tammy J. Samuels joined Rutgers Career Services as a an
Assistant Director in 2007. Prior to Rutgers she was employed for
five years at Wilson College, three as a Dean of Students and two
years as the Director of Career Development. She also worked as a
career counselor at Middlesex County College and counselor at Medgar
Evers College. Her other professional experience includes counseling
and management in higher education and business. Tammy also worked
at Rutgers Career Services in the spring of 2002. She has a B.A. in
Women’s Studies from Rutgers and an M.A. in Counseling-Higher
Education from Montclair State University. She is also a member of
the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE). In her
spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and
shopping.

Barbara Gross,
Coordinator of Cooperative Education and Job Placement at Middlesex
County College in Edison NJ. Started at MCC in 1989 as a part time
Field Recruiter for the Admissions Office. In 1992, moved over to
the Cooperative Education Department and worked there part time
until 2000. At that time, the Director of the Cooperative Education
department retired and the college merged Co-op with the Counseling
and Career Services Dept. where I then became a full time employee.
Received BS from Suny, Plattsburgh in Child and Family Services with
intentions of becoming a social worker. After working with
emotionally disturbed adolescents for three years, my career plans
abruptly changed and I found my way into Higher Education: Financial
Aid, Admissions, Cooperative Education, and Career Services where I
have worked ever since.

Carol Martin Rutgers
was appointed the
Director of the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences
Cooperative Education Program at Rutgers, The State University of
New Jersey in 1987 after serving as the Assistant Director and
Coordinator for aproximately three years each. She received the
SEBS Award for Sustained Academic Exellence in April 2007. Carol
has been actively involved with the Cooperative Education and
Internship Association (CEIA) since 1980, presenting many workshops
at national conferences and as a member of the Awards Committee for
5 years. She was elected Vice President of Region II in March 2001
and served on the Board of Directors in that capacity for 2 terms.
In 2005, she was nominated by the President of CEIA to Vice
President of Communications, in part due to her past involvement in
editing and compiling the CEIA
President’s Newsbriefs and her role as listowner for the
CEIA members’ listserv and the CEIA Board listserv. While Vice
President of Region II, Carol volunteered as the Chair of the
Mid-Atlantic Cooperative Education and Internship Conference for
three years. She remains an active member of NJCEIA having
completed terms as Vice President for Membership, Vice President for
Programs, and President in 1998. Carol earned a Master of Education
degree from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers, The State
University of New Jersey in Educational Psychology with a Counseling
Psychology and Guidance emphasis. She previously earned a Bachelor’s
degree from Rutgers College in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

Amy Bravo
has been a Cooperative Education Coordinator at Ramapo College since
1998. In addition to her work in cooperative education, she is a
career advisor and teaches a first year seminar called Five Ways to
Change the World. Prior to this she taught a pre-career development
course for seven years called Pathways Linking Academic and Career
Experiences, which was designed specifically for students from
financially disadvantaged backgrounds. She earned a Master of Arts
degree in Liberal Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History,
both from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She has served on the NJCEIA
executive board since 2004, first as VP for Communications and then
as VP for Programs. She is a member of the League of Women Voters,
has volunteered as a literacy and English as a second language tutor
and currently volunteers for the Love Grace Society, a non-profit
organization that provides support to families coping with cancer.
